We are happy to say that we have 2 interesting courses for high school students who want to go to a summer school, but want something more than just a language school. We'd recommend Bucksmore's courses, which are Young Leaders, and Young Professionals courses. Let's find out what's good about these two courses. 😉

Bucksmore's best known summer course, Young Leader is ideal for ambitious students looking for 'more' than just a summer school.

With a focus developing key leadership skills such as a public speaking, negotiation and project management, this challenging programme provides students with the opportunity to network with like-minded students from all over the world.

Young Leaders takes place two locations in the UK. Younger students got to Tonbridge school, with older students staying in Pembroke College in the University of Oxford.

For me choosing a summer school was not an easy task, as I had very specific expectations of what kind of school I wanted. As soon as I found out about young leaders, it was clear that this was the one for me - and it has not disappointed! I've met people from all over the world and have found the lessons challenging and rewarding. I would recommend Young Leaders to anyone who wants more than an average summer school, and I'll definitely be back next year. - KAROLINE, AUSTRALIA

The Young Leaders syllabus follows a different theme each week (Politics, Journalism, Business, the United Nations, Marketing and Law).

These themes are designed as a platform to develop skills. They are not study options, but are instead used as a framework for projects and studies of leadership in different areas of life.

Students will also hear from guest speakers from leading brands each week, delivering an invaluable insight from experienced leaders, including a venture capitalists, university professors, public relations guru, news editor and management consultant.

Sample week (journalism)

The journalism week helps students develop their critical thinking, research skills, presentation and public speaking abilities. Students have input sessions on a wide range of journalism-related areas such as project management, ethical journalism, and spotting 'fake news'.

Culminating in a press conference, the week ends with students publishing and presenting their own media outlet.
